Essential Works Update
This is an update on the essential works currently ongoing at the Reserve:
The mains electrical cable has now been laid between the main gate and the Field Study Centre (FSC) and the trench, which was opened up down the side of the driveway, has now been backfilled. The main top car park is now accessible, as is the disabled car park adjacent to the FSC. There is still some movement of works vehicles in these areas, but this should not cause any major access issues. Only one side of our main double-gated entrance remains open, but this should not be an issue for normal vehicles, and both gates can be opened on request.
Work to prevent surface water run-off from the road flooding into the Reserve via the entrance lay-by will commence shortly, and will be carried out in two sections. This will mean that only one half of the length of the lay-by will be available for vehicles entering or leaving the Reserve at a time.
The Frenken Museum is currently closed for refurbishment.
We apologise for any inconvenience our visitors experience during these essential works. We will continue to post updates to keep everyone informed as best as we are able. Please feel free to phone the Reserve on 01843 822666 if you wish to check access details prior to your visit.
