The Monkton Stargazers will be holding an impromptu viewing session on Tues 16th Feb between 6 – 8pm. As usual, this will be free to members of the Reserve. Non-members may attend one such session, as a taster, free of charge but will be required to take out membership to attend any future events.

“Come and see a stellar nursery where stars are being born in the Orion nebula, see Betelgeuse, a morbidly obese star as big as the Earth’s orbit around the Sun, about to explode and die and see the remnants of where a star died in 1054, the Crab nebula. The ISS goes over too. Bring wellies and warm clothing!” John Hislop
