Monkton Nature Reserve is hosting Nature Club every Friday during the summer holidays from 11am.
29th – Catch a Fairy – make a beautiful light-up fairy lantern and learn about the Reserve’s fairies by walking the fairy trail.
Please bring a clean, empty jar for each child entering
5th – Big Butterfly Event – learn about native butterfly species, completing a simple survey for the Big Butterfly Count, followed by a craft event, colouring your own butterfly masks.
12th – Design a Dinosaur – walk the dinosaur trail, collecting materials to make your own clay dinosaur.
19th – Pond World – try pond dipping at our Damselfly pond, learning about pond invertebrates and pond ecology.
26th – Beautiful Birds of Prey – learn about birds of prey, with a close-up experience of owls, falcons and hawks, then do a session dissecting their pellets to find out about their diets.
